Pike Madness: March 22nd 2008
pikemadness

Pike Madness is an all-day three on three basketball tournament. The tournament will be hosted by the Pi Kappa Alpha fraternity at the University of Miami Wellness Center Outdoor Basketball Courts on Saturday March 22nd from 12:00 PM to 5:00 PM. The tournament is done in the same style as NCAA March Madness, with brackets for both men and women, and prizes for winners. Everyone is encouraged to participate in the tournament, regardless of ability.

The entry cost for each team is $30; each team may have 3-5 players on their roster. For more details on how to sign up, please see the reverse side. The top placing teams will receive trophies and awards as a prize. A prize will also go to the team displaying the most sportsmanship and spirit throughout the event.

Our goal in this tournament is to not only foster a fun and competitive basketball tournament, but to raise money for United Cerebral Palsy.  For more than 55 years, United Cerebral Palsy (UCP) has been committed to change and progress for persons with disabilities. Pike Madness aims to be an enjoyable experience for all, whether you are playing or watching.

Spectators are welcomed to join, however we request a minimum $5 donation. In return for your contribution, we will reward you with a $25 gift certificate to Tan V of Coral Gables and Miami Beach. All participants and spectators will also be provided refreshments courtesy of Bezzie’s Restaurant, PowerAde, and Red Bull. Each participant and spectators will also receive a raffle entry. Raffle prizes will include gift certificates and giveaways from businesses and organizations  including the Dallas Mavericks, New Jersey Nets, Duffy’s Tavern, Sandbar Sports Grill, Beach Club Salon and many more!

If you have any questions or would like to inquire about sponsoring the event through advertisement and in-kind donations, you can reach Jason Eisner at (845) 797-7715.
